5/5

Dreamhost

I’ve tried Dreamhost quite a long time ago – possibly around 10 years ago, and from there on, I’ve been pretty much a loyal customer, I find it quite convenient to have a shared hosting (unlimited websites) for a cheap price.

To be entirely honest, I’ve only recently noticed they added 1-Click WordPress installs, so I’ve been using that quite often – even to build this website! – It allows you to pick specific plugins to be installed during the wizard to spin your website up which is quite cool!

The price as compared to most hosting providers, is fairly cheap as it’s offering pretty much more than any other hosting provider I’ve tested so far, whilst being at the same price or cheaper.

To be entirely honest, I can’t find much to say against Dreamhost, the only thing I possibly dislike is that sometimes actions are queued and might take a few minutes to be action-ed. – But it is understandable that spinning a new website is queued and takes 2 minutes!

In my opinion, it’s the best service you can find at the moment and the best value for your money – Even if it was a bit more expensive, I would still opt to personally use Dreamhost in comparison to others on this list.

4/5

WP-Engine

I mean, it’s wp-engine, not many can compare to wp-engine when it comes to specialised WordPress hosting.

They have one of the best optimisation set up for WordPress sites, but even though they’re incredibly well at what they do, the price puts me off a bit, it’s a tad pricier than what Dreamhost offers, whilst providing the same value – unless you have a huge amount of visitors that is, then I would opt to have my website hosted on WP-Engine.

Basically, if you have extra cash and can afford it, go for it! but if you have tens of websites, I would opt for a cheap reasonable hosting provider such as Dreamhost and keep your brands on wp-engine.

Hostwinds

I couldn’t leave out hostwinds, it’s been around for quite a long time and they do offer a great service, and my favorite, they still use cpanel!

Even though it’s fairly traditional, in a sense that it didn’t really innovate in terms of control panel or any other craziness, it’s still a good option, and to be entirely honest I do love their pricing model!

So if you’re possibly a tad more technical and would like to give them a shot, do so! they’re quite an awesome bunch!
